Arise.

Do you think we take advantage of light? It always surrounds us, but when we cannot see, we are afraid of running into something or not being able to protect ourselves because we are not prepared. Light can be used to create beautiful images and can also reveal subjects that when exposed are horrific. This weeks photo assignment was to "Paint with Light". Basically i had to use a movable light source to "paint" another dark object. I was in a completely dark room and the only light source i used was a match. In the next two photos i used a very long exposure and two matches and this is basically what it looked like. I'm not that proud of it, but it was good for me to experiment with this type of photography. In these photographs i chose to reveal what i wanted, and with light i created the image i wanted.

Permission to Question.

I continue to stay in one city and pursue a degree in Theatre. I am adding an Art minor with an emphasis in Photography.. What will I do with it? Who knows, but I will be educated in several different areas of the arts as well as the general education classes I'm taking.

I don't mean to bore. Anyway, I am continuing to learn many different lessons, both in my spiritual life as well as through my academic and artistic life. I'm in the process of writing a short play and I'm learning small carpentry works. So this semester and the last have been full of learning new crafts. I've never written a play and I've never used my hands to build things that are larger than I am, but I'm enjoying learning. I have so much to learn, because right now, I'm really lacking in... well, I'm not good. Practice makes perfect though, right? Well, not to say that I'm good, but at least I've had a little more practice in photography, so here are a few photographs of a recent assignment. It was called something like "opposites", basically I was to take two objects that completely do not go together and make them work in an image. So, this is what came out (in order of how i like them).

The top two are just alright, but the bottom two turned out how I wanted them to. Thanks to Valentines Day, there were plenty of roses laying around campus. And thanks to my job around a wood shop I had the other supplies. I'll turn this project in tomorrow, we'll see how I do. Feel free to share photographs here on my sight, just leave a website address, I'd love to share.

Anyway, I'm done here, i know it's not the most interesting blog ever, but it will work for now.

Happy Sunday.
